The Business Analysis Advisor will be primarily responsible for providing business analytics to support AARP's growth and operating efficiency. This position will work collaboratively across the association to help other business units make better data-driven decisions. The decisions and outputs of this individual are highly visible throughout the enterprise and require not only superior analytical skills but also excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide extensive business case analyses across the entire organization to evaluate new business and social mission initiatives and help guide the best way to invest program funds.
  • Provide recommendations and insights to internal clients - communicating analytical results to non-financial audiences in a clear and concise format.
  • Perform comprehensive market, business, and social mission due diligence supporting potential third-party partnerships.
  • Work with leadership on special initiatives to evaluate and develop new business strategies.
  • Constantly monitor marketplace trends and internal metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enable more accurate forecasting of future activities.
  • Develop frameworks and conduct robust analyses to deepen AARP's understanding of customer behavior across marketing channels and provider engagements.
  • Collect, analyze and synthesize complete information from disparate sources into a clear and compelling story; Critically analyze alternatives to current-state issues.
  • Build key success metrics to evaluate the impact of various projects, improvements, and services. Analyze and measure the effectiveness of customer segmentation strategies and marketing investments to deliver actionable customer-led insights that drive growth. Communicate findings to senior management and to the broader organization, influencing upwards and laterally to drive organizational change and alignment.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business or economics; MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree/certification preferred and 5+ years of experience working in Consulting, Finance, or similar analytical capacity.
  • Commercial due diligence experience with very strong quantitative skills including familiarity with financial analysis, statistical methods, and data driven decision making.
  • Experience building in-depth quantitative models - e.g. evaluating market and company performance, pricing, discounted cash flow analysis, lifetime value - with the ability to communicate key insights to wide-ranging audiences.
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to coordinate across various groups and be proficient at managing multiple projects; Excellent business judgment and ability to recognize business implications of data. Good understanding of marketing, finance, and business strategy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, curiosity and creativity, ability to collaborate well with others, and strong initiative are absolute requirements for this position.
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate highly complex findings; familiarity with distilling research findings (primary and secondary sources; qualitative and quantitative).
  • Experience with conducting organizational strategic analysis and developing strategic plans, including growth strategy, competitive strategy, market size estimation, new market entry studies, and new business model development.
