The Marketing Associate participates in the development of compelling, valuable content to attract and engage customers and prospects with the objective of enhancing brand awareness and equity and driving profitable customer action. Participates in the creation of promotional publications, advertisements, brochures, articles, social media posts, product training, etc. that inform, educate, and/or entertain a defined target audience. Collects and analyzes data on the performance of specific communications or campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Produces and edits web content on AARP Foundation's webpages, to include producing email marketing campaigns, and executing and evaluating existing programs to identify improvements and to measure outcomes.
  • Monitors and manages data via the team's marketing dashboard and the Consumer Experience dashboard. Tracks, collates, and maintains an inventory of all communications and marketing campaigns, projects, and deliverables.
  • Manages the team's standard operating procedure (SOP) documents and uses collaboration software to assign tasks, track project progress, manage calendars, share documents, and manage other work.
  • Responsible for team reporting deliverables (e.g., quarterly data, measurement, and bi-weekly reports).
  • Serves as a central resource for key administrative, operations and marketing metrics, along with ad hoc reporting/analytics, business intelligence, data mining, and predictive modeling capabilities.
  • Coordinates the team's relationship and contracts with various vendors, and supports team expense reporting.
  • Supports Vice President, Communications & Marketing with limited administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in project management; or a comparable field of work experience.
  • Experience in a matrix-management environment and ability to direct individuals and teams without direct management responsibilities to such individuals and teams.
  • Demonstrated verbal communications skills, with the ability to communicate with the proper level of detail at the appropriate management level and audience.
  • Proficiency in Mac and PC platforms for file manipulation (Microsoft Office Suite) and Adobe Creative Suites programs such as Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud is a plus.
  • Experience analyzing data (such as research, analytics) and developing insights.
  • Experience with using content management systems (i.e. Adobe Experience Manager, Wordpress) to publish web content.
  • This is an in-office position and the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise level is required.
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills required.


Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
