Registered Nurse, Clinical SpecialistThe George Mason University's College of Health and Human Services seeks an energetic experienced Registered Nurse, Clinical Specialist to manage multiple clinics. About the College of Health and Human Services: The College of Health and Human Services comprises six academic units (departments): Global and Community Health; Health Administration and Policy; Nursing; Nutrition and Food Studies; Rehabilitation Science; and Social Work. As part of these efforts, CHHS remains committed to transdisciplinary research and inter-professional practice leveraging the notable health disciplines comprising the College.About the Mason And Partners (MAP) Clinic:George Mason University's Mason and Partners (MAP) interprofessional clinics serve the uninsured and refugee community within Prince William and Fairfax counties in Northern Virginia. These bridge-care model free clinics, located in Manassas, Springfield, and Culmore, provide health care, school physicals, screenings, and mental health services for vulnerable populations located in low-income and medically underserved areas (MUA). The ambulatory clinics provide to the community referrals, resources, and case management for medical home placement; wellness and integrated care workshops; and group care for chronic disease management and education. About the Position: This position will be the lead nurse in the MAP Manassas Clinic site and will support the other clinical sites as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting student learning in the clinic for the pre-licensure BSN Student. The position will work with the School of Nursing Director of Clinical to place students in the community clinic rotations. The incumbent will function as the point of contact for daily nursing operations and will be working with the administrative staff members at the Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinic. Employee will be onsite, telehealth, and offsite. Responsibilities: Uses the nursing process and evidence-based practice to collaborate with the clinical care team and community members to develop treatment plans of care; Responsible for collaborating with community agencies to provide quality patient care and facilitate care transitions and meet patient needs; andServe as advocate for students and act as preceptor and mentor for the pre-licensure BSN students. Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse; Licensure by the Virginia Board of Nursing or Medicine is required; Graduation from a professional Nursing program; Basic Life Support License;At least 2 years of working knowledge of community-based healthcare; Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels in a fast-paced environment using sound judgment; Strong writing skills, analytical and organizational skills; and Solid PC-related skills in MS Office and related database management. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing is a plus; Supervisory experience; Spanish speaking ability is a plus; and Preference will be given to candidates with experience managing diverse and underrepresented populations.
