Along with the robust investment and record-breaking growth in digital revenue, traffic and subscriptions comes the responsibility of providing comprehensive risk mitigation, which enables the company's leaders to execute key strategic decisions within a controlled internal operating environment. With the primary goal to meet regulatory and internal compliance obligations and develop/implement/test risk policies, procedures, and internal controls to keep risk at acceptable levels, you will shape and monitor this environment using control frameworks and activities, which are appropriately adapted for a private company and reflect the risk appetite and operational priorities and preferences of company leadership. A strong candidate in this position must possess intellectual curiosity, creativity, independence and a dedication to quality.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and support internal and external audit engagements to ensure a seamless and timely completion of audits in accordance with regulatory and company-established standards.
  • Review and update policies, process narratives and flowcharts to reflect current business practices, identify changes in risks, assess the adequacy of existing controls and implement new controls when needed.
  • Consult with business owners and auditors on control development, testing and deficiency management in accordance with regulatory and company-established standards.
  • Complete scheduled disclosures, control attestations and fraud and business risk assessments to identify new risks, develop solutions to address those risks, and minimize impact to the business.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance on insurance claims, contract provisions as they relate to insurance, and loss trends to protect the company and its employees from losses and mitigate the impact of potential losses.
  • Lead annual renewal activities, such as gathering exposures, and work with the primary casualty carrier on annual premium audits to ensure accurate reporting and timely audit completion in accordance with regulatory and company-established standards.
  • Provide coordination on loss prevention activities between the casualty carrier and various business units to identify risks, process and control improvement opportunities, and effective mitigation strategies to prevent and reduce the number and severity of losses.
