Adventist HealthCare Fort Washington Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator-Nurse Practitioner who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As the Bariatric Surgery Program Coordinator-Nurse Practitioner you will:
•Oversee and organize the clinical activities of the bariatric surgery program including achieving and maintaining accreditation of the program.
•Establishes and maintains program accreditation based on the standards of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
•Coordinates and navigates care plan for potential, current and post-surgical bariatric surgery patients to insure compliance with specific insurance requirements and standards
•Verifies patient benefits, helps schedule and communicates appointments to patients
•Coordinates physicians and other clinical providers to help patients with their treatment plans
•Provides patient education pre- and post-surgery including information sessions for groups of prospective patients and one-on-one interactions.
•Provides education to nurses/staff and providers regarding care of bariatric patients

Qualifications Include:
•Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
•Required Master of Science in Nursing
•Minimum of two years in a medical office setting and/or coordinator of bariatric surgery or other subspecialty
•Strong leadership and consensus building
•Preferred: Certified Bariatric Nurse(opportunity to gain certification after hire)
•Requires the ability to travel in the service area(Southern Maryland) on a regular basis
