Dewberry is currently seeking a Technical Practice Deputy Director to work in its Fairfax, VA office.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Technical Practice Director (TPD) in the day-to-day management and leadership of resource teams.
  • Acts as resource manager for Resilience Solutions Business Unit (BU).
  • Assists the TPD in supervision of Resource Team Leads (RTLs).
  • Works with Project Managers (PMs) and RTLs to capture staffing needs based on new or pending sales and coordinates assignment of resources to current projects.
  • Negotiates with PMs based on team workload, staff availability, technical capability and other factors to optimize resources to best meet project needs and client expectations while also broadening team capabilities.
  • Coordinates among project managers when resource, project prioritization and schedule conflicts arise, and escalates to TPD and BU Manager as needed.
  • Develops contingency staffing plans for large strategic pursuits.
  • Manages multiple projects, and leads tasks as necessary.


Required Skills & Required Experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience in supervisory management


Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program and Risk MAP
  • Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM)
  • Adept in business management systems and reports
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.


Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
