Job Summary:
Westat has immediate openings for analytical and organized individuals to join the Public Health and Epidemiology Practice as a research assistant to support the cancer surveillance projects. Qualified individuals may work on a variety of projects and need to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. This position is remote work eligible.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support cancer data collection activities.
• Conduct and summarize literature reviews.
• Provide administrative support as needed (updating presentations, coordinating/scheduling meetings, note taking, etc)
• Assist in developing project materials and documentation.
• Perform data management and manipulation using MS Excel spreadsheets and SAS
• Conduct quality control checks on data and reports.
• Other relevant job duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• A master's degree, preferably in public health, social sciences or related fields.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Power Point).
• Quantitative and qualitative analytic skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Strong interest in public health research, public health interventions, and community engaged research.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on teams, attention to detail, and working in a fast-paced environment.
