Dewberry is seeking a GIS Technical Lead for our Fairfax, VA office or remote working within the US. It's a superb opportunity for a passionate GIS pro to shape an expanding development team at a leading geospatial firm.

Dewberry's Geospatial & Technology Services (GTS) group delivers geospatial solutions for government and private clients using a variety of commercial and open-source tools. We're looking for a technical lead to spearhead our GIS web development and solutions architecture efforts.

Responsibilities

The new technical lead will:

• Serve as the team's lead GIS web developer and solutions architect
• Build GIS-enabled websites, applications, user interfaces and APIs
• Make recommendations about programming frameworks and languages to deliver solutions
• Design modern solution architectures involving GIS data stores, services and applications which could be deployed on cloud and interface with other non-GIS systems.
• Manage and maintain the team's existing systems and solutions - primarily Esri ArcGIS Enterprise deployed on AWS
• Provide input on estimated effort, project scope, schedule and budget
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Mentor emerging developers

Required Skills & Required Experience

We're interested in the following skills and experience (you don't need to have them all to apply) :

• UI development with JavaScript, TypeScript and React.js (or comparable frameworks)
• UI development with Esri JS, OpenLayers, Leaflet.js, Turf.js or equivalent GIS packages
• Widget development with Esri's Web AppBuilder or Experience Builder
• Widget and workflow development with Geocortex
• Development with node.js, npm and solution bundlers.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, git/bitbucket source control and unit testing
• Experience configuring and administering ArcGIS Enterprise: Server, Portal, Data Store and SDE.
• Experience working with AWS: EC2, RDS, Security Groups, ALB, Certificate Store (or Azure equivalents)

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
