Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an Nursing Informatics Specialist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The Nursing Informatics Specialist applies expert knowledge of nursing and other related information systems to the management and communication of data, information and knowledge in nursing practice and administration.
The actions and attitudes of the NI specialist promote and support the hospital mission and values, and contribute to the critical success factors of the organization (i.e. Best place to work, most extraordinary experience, superior outcomes, financial success for reinvestment, valued as a faith-based organization, and a growing organization vital to the community.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs the activities that support the life cycle of nursing and related CIS.
• Analyzes expected and potential impact of IT on work processes, coordinates process redesign efforts to streamline and improve work processes.
• Provides and manages data that assists in decision support and outcomes management.
• Participates in the education and training of staff.
• Maintains IT system and applications functionality and addresses issues promptly.
• Promotes the spiritual care mission
• Maintains up to date knowledge of nursing informatics and related technology and software, and nursing administration and practice.
• Implements informatics solutions and data structures that support nursing and patient care.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland.
• Minimum of five years clinical nursing experience, and three years of progressive responsibility in information system administration including leadership and participation in implementation of a major information system.
• A master's degree in nursing informatics or administration with certification an extensive experience in informatics.
• Ability to respond quickly to market changes, and a desire to conceive and carry out innovative changes.
• Ability to create a work environment that promotes efficiency and productivity, satisfaction, growth and development, and collaboration and teamwork.
• Strong verbal and written skills in English, including communication skills that promote interpersonal relations and customer service.
• Strong leadership and organization skills.
• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed.
• Project management skills.
• Computer proficiency in HIS, Windows and Internet Environments, and Microsoft Suite applications.
