Dewberry has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager reporting directly to our Director of Safety and Health. The position requires up to 50% travel nationally. Responsibilities

Office: Safety Program Administration and Risk Management Support
  • Implement and promote Dewberry's Health and Safety Program.
  • Construction safety experience commensurate with the requirements for Construction Health Safety Technician (CHST). Experience with mechanical, electrical, site civil, roofing systems and trades are required. Experience with safety programs related to cranes, bucket trucks, electrical systems and wireless communication systems including utility and tower structures is a plus.
  • Manage Safety PPE Purchase Program.
  • Maintain company safety performance metrics
  • Support Operations, Director of Safety and Health, Marketing Team and construction teams with RFPs and proposal submissions, safety content, and metrics and reviewing subcontractor safety practices, metrics and their safety plans for conformance to both Dewberry's and our client safety requirements.
  • Assist in managing Dewberry's Medical Monitoring, Screening and Surveillance Programs.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver safety training courses related to construction, in person and virtually
  • Monitor safety training compliance and reporting to Safety Advocates and operational management.
  • Conduct project site safety inspections.
  • Network with Safety Advocates and Business Unit Managers to proactively address and resolve any safety program concern/issues.


Required Skills & Required Experience

  • B achelor's Degree in Safety, industrial hygiene, safety management, environmental science, occupational health or other related fiel d
  • 6-10 years of hands on, related work.
  • Completed the 30-hour OSHA General Industry safety class and training on EM 385-1-1.
  • Current certification in first aid and current CPR certification from the American Red Cross (ARC)
  • Track and investigate worker compensation claims.
  • Experience in development of Accident Prevention Plans (APP), Activity Hazard Analysis, health and safety plans, or other project-specific documentation.
  • Advanced written communication skills, being able to transform highly technical information into meaningful content for internal audiences.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
