Manager, Regulatory Advisory

We are a growing diversified financial services company with one of the most recognized brands in banking. The Regulatory Relations function is responsible for managing all interactions with Capital One's Federal Banking Regulators, providing key advisory consulting to senior management with respect to onsite supervision, and supporting regulatory and supervisory policy. These roles involve significant engagement with senior leaders and provide the opportunity for growth in regulatory affairs and risk management.

We are recruiting for multiple positions reporting into our technology, risk management, and operations and analysis teams within Regulatory Relations. Each position will report to a Director on the Regulatory Relations team. These roles play a significant role in ensuring that Capital One proactively responds to the changing regulatory landscape and delivers on commitments to our regulators in a timely manner.

Responsibilities will also include:
  • Foster productive relationships between Capital One and Federal Regulatory Supervisory staff.
  • Support examination preparation activities in the areas that include, technology, cybersecurity, risk management, finance, and/or commercial credit space (logistics management, fulfillment of responses to the examination request letter).
  • Support execution of the examination on-site activities related to the above areas (meetings, document requests, matrix management, daily calls, issue resolution).
  • Identify potential risk areas through review of policies, procedures, and related documents and influence potential corrective actions.
  • Monitor corrective actions and ensure that they are on-track for appropriate and timely mitigation.
  • Support advocacy efforts by researching and analyzing new regulatory and supervisory policy developments


The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Ability to interact with Capital One management and the Federal Regulatory Supervisory staff
  • A general understanding of risk management
  • Strong critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills
  • Well organized with some project management or process management knowledge
  • Excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment where priorities often change


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in risk management, technology, cybersecurity, audit, finance, consulting, regulatory agencies, or any combination


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in risk management, technology, cybersecurity, finance, audit, consulting, regulatory agencies, or a combination
  • Previous experience supporting integrated projects or programs where senior leaders and external stakeholders are your customers
  • Previous experience working with banking regulators and regulatory policy
  • Previous experience in banking and financial services
  • Previous experience in digital and technological developments in banking and financial services
