Our client in the financial institution industry is seeking an Collections Specialist who can can assist our clients with their financial accounts. If this sounds like you, we are looking for someone with experience handling collection overdrafts, negative share accounts, delinquent loans, and credit card accounts. Counsels members on various financial planning and budgeting tools.

Job Requirements

Qualified applicant must be able to:
  • Collects delinquent loans, credit card accounts and overdrawn share and checking accounts (10 days and up, days past due and charged off loans)
  • Processes returned checks and updates member loans or savings accounts as required
  • Establishes and maintains delinquent loan account record
  • Verify, complete, and maintain consumer dispute verifications for all delinquent accounts
  • Reviews and investigates payment reports to resolve member disputes

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. AA degree preferred or College coursework in Business and/or Finance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Fair Credit Reporting and Debt Collections laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of lending polices desirable
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years consumer collection experience preferably in a financial institution
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to deal with difficult members, resolves problems, and work well under pressure
  • Must possess a strong service orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities. Extensive telephone work. PC proficient including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the Internet
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc.
  • Must have experience with bankruptcies, tax levies, garnishments, researching credit report disputes, Chex-Systems and e-Oscar
