Hood College invites applications for a full-time Director of Human Resources. The Human Resources Director develops, plans, leads, directs and coordinates the policies, activities and staff of the Human Resources department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the College’s missions and talent strategy. Administers all human resource programs to include employee relations, compensation, training and development, benefits administration, health and wellness, and equal employment opportunity.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding human resources management level experience with high ethical standards and strong managerial acumen.
  • Excellent foundation in all elements of human resources with an understanding and thorough knowledge of current issues and future trends.
  • Solid understanding of the principles of strategic planning and the development tactics to address the College’s mission and business objectives.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Outstanding leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
  • Innovative, collaborative management style and excellent communication skills.
  • Expertise in using Human Resource Information Systems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field and substantial relevant experience necessary for this level of responsibility, with progressively responsible strategic HR leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in building and managing a successful service-oriented and highly responsive human resources team.
  • Management experience in higher education a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

SHRM-SCP or HRCI SPHR preferred. CEBS a plus.
