AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

The Health Marketing Manager develops and implements multi-channel marketing campaigns and program strategies to achieve varied organizational objectives. Ensures marketing activities are integrated with other parts of the business and align with overall organization objectives. Develops and implements tactical plans to achieve goals. Tracks and assesses campaign results and adjusts marketing strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. Collaborates with management to identify opportunities to streamline marketing processes and to develop new procedures that support the business unit/department.


  • Provide quality control review of provider marketing communications to ensure they adhere to AARP's brand guidelines and messaging, including lending expertise in the use of plain language standards to improve customer understanding and enhance product literacy among members.
  • Primary day-to-day marketing manager with Provider relationships and internal stakeholders for all marketing related activities for Providers inclusive of: data delivery, member benefit communications, membership new/renewal goals, cross cutting initiatives.
  • Ensure strategic and tactical marketing execution of Providers' annual marketing plan development and delivery. Provide input on product messaging, positioning, test strategies, and use of tactical channels as it relates to all provider marketing and member communications.
  • Work closely with ASI relationship/account management team to ensure delivery of Provider goals and regularly provide updates to Provider on AARP/ ASI strategic goals and priorities.
  • Provide marketing leadership/support to onboard new Providers or additional special projects for existing providers.
  • Lead and manage brand and legal vetting of high profile Provider marketing activities: DRTV, Public relations campaigns, research, social media campaigns.
  • Leverage and liaise ASI assets, including cooperative marketing programs, member benefit communication channels, multicultural market opportunities in an effort to create value and intersection with Provider goals and objectives.


  • Completion of Bachelor's degree and 6+ years' experience in marketing, communications or combination of relationship management and marketing.
  • Industry knowledge of healthcare preferred.
  • Also preferred is experience in partner/affinity marketing and/or oversight of external marketing relationships.
  • Requires strong relationship management and project management skills, and the ability to manage and influence relationships across multiple external vendors and business partners.
  • Strong direct-to-consumer marketing experience, especially in direct response channel; DM, DRTV, online, social media.
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation and interpersonal communication skills a must.
  • Ability to toggle between multiple priorities at the same time at a fast and efficient pace.
  • Ability to travel to Provider meetings/events (10-15%).
