Stepped Mental Health Care DirectorThe George Mason University (GMU) Psychology Department is seeking a Licensed Psychologist to oversee our new Stepped Care Mental Health program in the department's Center for Psychological Services. About the Position:This position is part of a major investment of GMU in supporting the health and well-being of its students, faculty, and staff. We are implementing an evidence-based Stepped Care Behavioral Health Program (https://psyclinic.gmu.edu/emotional-support-resources/emotional-support-resources) with 3 levels: (a) a call-in helpline that provides evidence-based support and crisis intervention, (b) a brief (1-3 sessions) structured intervention for those who need more than the helpline, and (c) delivery of full cognitive-behaviorally based therapy for those who need more than the brief intervention. Under the supervision of the Director of the Center for Psychological Services, this position will oversee all elements of the stepped care model. Duties will include training and supervision of advanced undergraduate and graduate/professional students in delivering all three components of the stepped care model, some of which is will be conducted in the context of formal coursework, and other parts of which may be conducted in the context of training workshops or other formats. The position may also involve delivery of some services within this stepped care model, and it will include coordination with other departments and health providers across George Mason University. Finally, the individual in this position will oversee data collection for the program, with opportunities to assist in publications as desired. It is anticipated that the psychologist in this position will engage as a non-tenure-track faculty member in the doctoral clinical psychology program. Required Qualifications: (1) Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program; completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited predoctoral internship; (2) experience with Evidence-Based psychotherapy, specifically including cognitive-behavioral therapy; (3) licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in Virginia; and (4) demonstrated commitment to education of and clinical work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Preferred Qualifications:(1) Prior experience in supervision and/or teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate students.
