Administrative Assistant and Office Manager - Office of the DeanThe George Mason University Office of the Dean, within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), seeks an efficient and organized team player to act as the administrative assistant and office manager. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Serve as the primary point of contact in the Office of the Dean, welcome and assist guests, and answer telephone and email inquiries;Serve as the primary contact for conference room scheduling within the Nguyen Engineering building, which includes the distribution and tracking of keys and borrowed items for conference rooms;Schedule meetings, appointments, events and travel as requested for Director of Finance, Chief Diversity Officer, and/or other Office of the Dean staff;Serve as the Office Manager for the CEC Office of the Dean, monitoring and orderings supplies, and submit work orders as needed;Serve as the telecom coordinator for the CEC Office of the Dean;Other duties as assigned; andAdminister and perform support functions such as:Scheduling and supporting meetings and events for the Office of the Dean, to include all required logistical set-up and clean-up, catering orders;Preparation and/or collection of materials needed for meetings; andData entry and tracking and file creation in support of various projects.Required Qualifications:Experience providing administrative support (typically 3+ years);Exceptional written and oral communication skills; Prior experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously; Discretion and ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential information;Professional demeanor and presentation; andCandidate should possess proficiency using e-mail (Outlook), internet, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
