The Development and Alumni Relations office within Scalia Law aligns itself directly with the School's mission and vision as well as that of the GMU's Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations to heighten alumni engagement and philanthropic giving of Scalia Law alumni. About the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations: The Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations is responsible for all aspects of fundraising for George Mason University which includes the successful discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of all donors. Advancement's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with George Mason University's alumni and constituents, while matching their philanthropic interests with the university aspirations and priorities. About the Position: The Development Operations Manager is responsible for administrative support, managing and analyzing reports for team and Department Chairs and Center Directors, coordinating internal technology (Anthology) and CRM updates, coordinates campaign operations, and provides back-end donor relations support. Responsibilities: Provide the full range of operational functions for the Assistant Dean for Development and Alumni Relations and Development team members and related advisory board leadership including administrative support, calendar management, gift processing, database management, and reporting; Manage and update all databases and records for development activities and generate reports for development officers and the entire office on a routine and ad hoc basis; Serve as the primary contact and liaison for Scalia Law's Anthology subcommunity. Become well versed in platform best practices and support members across the school in use of the tool; Improve office operations through data-driven, strategic planning to maximize the activity of all team members; Generate appropriate electronic and other correspondence and lead department donor steward; Work with Central Advancement and GMU Foundation in gifts processing, foundation fund creation and administration, and when necessary OSP interface; Work with Scalia Law divisions and programs to coordinate communications; Support Alumni chapters and boards; Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, plan for Scalia Law's participation in future Scalia Law or University fundraising campaigns by managing the schedule, materials, collateral, database, and donor profiles for the campaign; Support Scalia Law -wide events such as graduation, JLR, visits of dignitaries and speakers, and other events as needed; Provide back-end support for events, including planning documents, contracts, materials, system updates, and onsite support; May be required to work some evenings or weekends, depending on events and support needed; andBe willing to take on additional work as needed to ensure the smooth operations and coordination with Central Advancement, the University Foundation, and the Dean's Suite. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Experience in administrative management. Proven ability to work effectively work in a dynamic environment and in support of a high-level management team; Excellent computer skills with advance working knowledge of all applications in Microsoft Office, electronic calendaring, and e-mail. Possess skills to provide all aspects of executive level administrative support, especially communication with and generation of external correspondence to the key constituents such as donors and the alumni community; Office experience, with executive support including meeting planning, document creation and preparation. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills; Must be creative, willing to develop stewardship messaging, and utilize Anthology for event tracking and coordination; Must be able to provide operational and administrative support including: budgeting, travel preparation and assistance, reimbursements, calendaring, messaging, meeting organization, event support, volunteer management, reporting, and data input; Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask; Ability to quickly learn reporting systems, understand travel request systems, computer files and applications, and apply and abide by policy and regulations; and Must have the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in a highly visible office. Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing administrative support in an academic environment or higher education; Experience using Advance, Orbis, Banner or IModules/Anthology software systems; andExperience in Development databases and reporting formats.
