Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Perioperative RN Liaison for our Pre-Surgical Services department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Perioperative RN Liaison you will:
• Explain electronic tracking board to the patient's care partner.
• Give the family the name and phone number of Nurse Liaison.
• Keep family members informed of the patient's movement through their surgery or procedure by rounding in the perioperative/procedural units.
• Work closely with pre-operative or pre-procedural staff, and post -operative or post-procedural staff, to facilitate visitation and communication on progress i.e. schedule changes and or delays.
• Facilitate family consultation with the surgeon/proceduralist
• Direct and escort patient visitation per Charge Nurse/Procedural Team instructions
• Offer service recovery as needed
• Consulting appropriate personnel in case of emergency I.e. AMN, Manager, Director, Chaplain, etc.
• Assist perioperative areas as needed.
• Hand-off to PACU Charge Nurse prior to end of shift.

Qualifications include:
• Direct Surgical Experience with Knowledge of various types of procedures
• Bachelors degree in Nursing
• Bilingual preferred
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Customer Service Experience or Acute Care Experience highly preferred
