Duties

  • Experience in community economic development, with an emphasis on rural areas and an appreciation for barriers in rural areas and an ability to creatively pursue solutions suited to low- income rural areas.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: site development, downtown/Main Street development, building construction, tourism, brownfield development, natural/water resource management, energy-related development, and housing development.
  • Grants management processes and techniques consistent with sound business and industry practices including ability to review, monitor and administer assigned grants.
  • Ability to facilitate diverse groups and individuals, including federal, state and local partners, to advance their goals in a consultative and collaborative manner.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher degree in a related field, and two years of work experience in community economic development or a related field.
  • Core competencies: accountability, adaptability, collaboration, communication, and critical analysis.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment bringing an energetic and innovative approach to the work.

  • Prior to hire, the selectee must successfully complete and maintain a background check/investigation.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to travel (up to 25%) as condition as determined given COVID-19.
  • Management may select at any of the grade levels announced.


Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher degree in a related field, preferred; Two years of work experience in community economic development or a related field.
