Description Our client, a fast growing Government Contractor in Rockville, MD is looking for a Government Contracting Finance Manager to join their accounting/finance team. This individual will be responsible for supervising 2 finance professionals and 2 accountants. Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:* Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to inform financial decisions* Collaborate with project managers and project teams across the organization on a variety of strategic projects* Assist in budgeting, pricing, forecasting and long-range financial planning* Conduct cost proposals using federal government contracting methods* Make recommendations for improving policies and procedures and assist in implementing them* Ensure contracts, subcontracts, and other agreements are managed in accordance with company policies, laws and regulations, and contract requirements* Coordinate and participate in supporting proposals, bids, and business development activities, such as preparing cost and price analysis* Manage, train, mentor and develop our internal finance team; and oversee external finance vendors, such as bookkeepers and accountantsThe ideal candidate for the Government Contractor - Finance Manager will have:* Bachelor's degree, plus 5+ years' experience in a finance and/or accounting function* Experience working with government contracts, including time and materials, firm-fixed price, fixed-price, and IDIQ contracts, and interfacing with national and federal government clients* A proven ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with business partners and executives* Experience in building and adapting financial forecasts and reports, budgeting and long-range planning* Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills* Accounting software experience (experience with Unanet a plus)* Impeccable analytical and critical thinking skills* Financial audit experience (GSA experience preferred) as well as DCAATo apply to this Government Contracting - Finance Manager role please do so through this posting or reach out to Caren Bromberg Bach on LinkedIn or call Caren Bach at 301.965.9035.
