About Internal Audit at Mason:The Office of University Audit provides independent, objective, risk-based internal audit and advisory services designed to add value and improve university operations. This is achieved by using a systemic, disciplined, and collaborative approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of university governance, risk management, and compliance processes. Responsibilities: Plan work, evaluate risks and controls, test control effectiveness, and communicate results through verbal communications and written reports primarily related to information technology & security risks;Demonstrate teamwork, collaboration, a positive attitude, and a high level of ethics;Build and nurture relationships with university executives, faculty, and staff; andManage performance of co-sourced auditors. Required Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate large-scale IT business environments, network operating environments, application controls, systems development, or user-developed applications and environments;Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate information security governance and risk management programs;Ability to identify and assess risks and exposures across business processes, programs, and operations which often span organizational departments;Superior skills in the areas of communication, relationship-building, collaboration, and problem-solving; strong ability to communicate and collaborate with operational management and auditors, including IT and non-IT auditors; Highest levels of integrity, strong initiative, flexibility, and professionalism with a results-oriented work style; Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset with a strong customer-centric mindset; andA bachelor's degree in combination with relevant experience or any combination of education and experience equivalent to an advanced degree in business administration, information technology, data management, analytics, or a related field.Preferred Qualifications: Relevant professional certification, or ability to obtain certification (e.g., Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant).
