Overview

AARP Services, Inc. (ASI), founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. ASI manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

The Discounts Marketing Manager will serve as the primary marketing leads for Lifestyle ASI Travel and Discounts Provider relationships. The Marketing Manager will not only work upstream to oversee quality control of all provider marketing material, they work directly with Providers and internal matrix partners to develop marketing plans and strategy to advance the enhanced provider program with Providers. The Marketing Manager will be the front line with Providers to execute and track marketing efforts on behalf of ASI.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic marketing expertise and tactical execution for provider programs and new provider launches
  • Oversees the development of annual provider marketing plans and AARP enterprise goals and objectives
  • Ensures quality control of AARP brand, legal requirements and messaging in provider communications for digital and offline channels
  • Provides provider guidance in creating and implementing plain language standards to improve AARP member understanding and experience
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of provider content and offers within co-op programs, digital and AARP internal channels
  • Develops portfolio level strategy for AARP suite of products, educating and providing guidance for AARP members
  • Demonstrates professional cultural attributes and behaviors in all internal and external interactions

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in marketing and communications
  • Experience in partner/affinity marketing and/or oversight of external marketing relationships is preferred. Travel and retail services industry knowledge is a plus
  • Extensive relationship management and project management skills and the ability to manage and influence relationships across multiple external vendors and business partners
  • Strong direct-to-consumer marketing experience, especially in direct mail, digital, and social marketing
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation, and interpersonal communication skills a must
  • Ability to toggle between multiple priorities at the same time at a fast and efficient pace
  • Standard office environment with an open work culture


Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Telework and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
