Job Description W. R. Grace & Co.'s ("Company") Legal Department is seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to help support its global litigation and dispute resolution activities. You will be based at our corporate headquarters in Columbia, MD. As a key member of the Legal Department, you will work alongside Grace's in-house Counsel, outside Counsel, and business team members to research legal claims and work on novel issues. In this position, you will perform such tasks as conducting legal and general research, drafting documents, and correspondence, reviewing and summarizing records, maintaining files, and communicating with internal and external customers, vendors and government representatives. You will also contribute to projects related to eDiscovery, technology development, and process improvements to increase the Legal Department's operational efficiencies. Responsibilities Work alongside Litigation counsel and collaborate with teams across the Company Conduct fact-finding investigations, gather information, identify documents/data to preserve and/or collect in response to discovery, subpoenas or internal investigations, issue litigation holds Help prepare and coordinate responses to discovery requests and subpoenas in accordance with deadlines. This includes creation of encrypted drives and/or use of file sharing software, tracking receipt, and responses to any follow-up requests Perform legal and general research Coordinate with external legal counsel on specific assignments, review preliminary advice, and assist with providing internal recommendations Support or drive case management including managing specific workflows, task lists, status updates, timing, and overall case organization Maintain records and organize materials in an efficient legal filing system as well as in onsite and offsite document repositories Support or drive projects related to technology, process, or policy improvements Required Skills Experience working on all phases of complex discovery and civil litigation in US federal and state courts Experience managing compliance and discovery production relative to subpoenas, court orders, and similar types of civil processes Superior organization skills and ability to manage and track files related to case documents Effective analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent writing and editing ability as well as superior attention to detail Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality Ability to effectively and efficiently manage numerous cases and/or projects under time-sensitive deadlines Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members, outside counsel, and third parties, as well as work independently Thorough knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), Westlaw, Pacer, and online free legal research tools Demonstrated aptitude for learning new subjects and technologies Required Experience Bachelor's degree or a paralegal certificate 5+ years of litigation support experience as a Paralegal or Legal Specialist at a law firm or in-house legal department #WRGRACE Grace is not accepting unsolicited assistance from search firms for this employment opportunity.
