Cherry Bekaert's Valuation Services practice is a recognized leader in providing financial advisory services to privately held and publicly-traded companies. In response to our sustained growth, we are seeking to augment our high performing team by adding the practice's first dedicated Real Estate Appraiser. This role has the flexibility to sit in multiple offices throughout our footprint and will work closely with practice leadership to perform valuation advisory engagements for financial reporting, tax, and M related purposes.Our ideal candidate will be MAI certified, with prior experience in a professional services firm, capable of owning aspects of engagement delivery and client management. If the opportunity to take on a strategic role supporting the continued growth of this line of service is of interest - let's talk.What your days will look like:Conduct commercial real estate appraisals and foster client relationships across Cherry Bekaert's service linesPerform business enterprise, debt & equity financial instruments, and minority ownership interests valuations in various types of real estate dealsExecute purchase price allocations and asset impairment testing of tangible and intangible assetsWork closely with audit teams across Cherry Bekaert's assurance practice to review 3rd-party valuation and real estate reports and engage in real estate expertise consultationEngage in business development and thought-leadership initiativesWhat you need for this role:Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI)5+ years of real estate consulting experienceBachelor's Degree in Finance (concentration in real estate-related studies preferred)Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in utilizing CoStar and CRE-related softwareExperience in real estate valuations and advisory services pertaining to the following areas is a plus:Financial reporting requirements under US GAAP/IFRS for tangible and intangible assets/liabilitiesAffordable housing and Low-Income Housing Tax CreditsAnalysis of minority ownership interests and financial instrumentsAbility to travel up to 10%Preferred qualifications:Interest in pursuing relevant advanced degree and/or professional certification (MBA, MS, ASA, ABV, CFA)Ability to develop and generate business utilizing own professional contacts and relationships is a plusOther Requirements:Candidates must demonstrate they are eligible to work in the United States.Available for Work Sponsorship: NoWhat we offer you:Shared values, including uncompromising integrity, a passion for excellence, and mutual respectCollaborative environment focused on career advancement and professional developmentCompetitive compensation and extensive trainingopportunitiesFlexible work arrangements with generous PTO"Dress for your Day" policyOur mission is to make a difference for our people and for our clients.
