Regional Reliability Engineer
Job Summary:The Regional Reliability Engineer is responsible for Carmeuse related industry processes including but not limited to; milling and mining process, kiln and mobile equipment, and associated production units for three Northeast Virginia locations. Leads the development of processes, procedures, and tools associated with these processes to safely reduce production and maintenance costs and improve efficiency while making quality products, and respecting emissions limits. Performs root cause analysis to determine most appropriate corrective actions. Actively engages and drives plant management and hourly workforce to ensure alignment with all plant maintenance and operational departments. Develops strong interpersonal relationships and constructively works across organizational boundaries to resolve production and process barriers. Helps lead the implementation of smart maintenance technologies and predictive maintenance tools.Responsibilities & Duties:A cents € cents Analyzing equipment performance, failure data, and corrective maintenance history to develop and implement engineered solutions, improved maintenance strategies, preventative maintenance activities' optimization, and other techniques and solutions.A cents € cents Improving plant equipment by implementing programs such as advanced maintenance methodology including predictive and preventive maintenance techniques.A cents € cents Failure analysis to recommend operational, maintenance, and process changes so as to maximize equipment reliability, availability and life expectancy.A cents € cents Support plant maintenance in developing and implementing local programs to drive site equipment reliability and cost managementA cents € cents Support and engage to measure and manage plant equipment performance for guarantees and warranty related subjects.A cents € cents Providing training and coaching in Root Cause and Reliability Analysis and taking ownership for ongoing corrective action tracking, implementation, and follow up to ensure that all Root Cause analysis projects are documented and solutions implemented.A cents € cents Partnering with appropriate suppliers and customer technical resources to document best practices.A cents € cents Providing leadership in conducting and arranging for the training of maintenance personnel in tasks, techniques, technologies, and concepts for maintenance technicians and support staff.A cents € cents Evaluate and recommend process & equipment improvements.A cents € cents Interface with equipment and systems vendors, including expediting documentation.A cents € cents Conducting analyses and investigations to determine the relative reliability of factors such as cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, availability and reliability of materials and equipment.A cents € cents Determines the ability of products and solutions to comply with customer and contractual requirements.A cents € cents Develop the analysis methods for establishing reliability of company products and their components, prepares sketches, charts, drawings or reports for further developments.A cents € cents Support the Carmeuse Safety program and initiatives.A cents € cents Support the Carmeuse Sustainability program and initiatives.Knowledge and SkillsA cents € cents Possesses resource management skills;Knowledge and experience working contemporary concepts of continuous improvement and Lean ManufacturingDemonstrates competency in preventative, predictive, basic care practices, and computerized maintenance management systemsStrong verbal and written communication skills (English language);Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers both verbally and in writing;Ability to work closely with plant managers, staff members, supervisors, team leaders, hourly associates, contractors, and federal/state regulatorsDemonstrates respect for conflicting points of view, listens to others, and builds strong working relationshipsDemonstrates appropriate negotiating tactics and is able to negotiate win/win agreements without compromising principlesStrong computer skills in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Internet skillsExperience working in SAP, preferred.Ability to safely navigate in and around heavy industrial equipment and construction sites;Ability to understand and effectively communicate using engineering drawings and sketches;Strong quantitative problem solving, decision-making and time management skills;Demonstrates the ability to work in multicultural teams;Demonstrates self-motivated mindset/attitude with encouragement to take on new projects leading to more efficient equipment and/or designJob Qualifications:A cents € cents Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Minerals Processing Engineering, or related field and experience.A cents € cents 5+ years experience in an Engineering role within maintenance or operations.A cents € cents Experience in Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting.A cents € cents Demonstrated competency in preventative, predictive, basic care practices, and computerized maintenance management systems; experience with SAP is highly preferred;A cents € cents Industry background in manufacturing related to mining, paper mills, steel plants, refractory, heavy equipment fabrication, stone processing, cement plants, etc. Lime and cement experience is preferred.A cents € cents Qualified candidates will exhibit a positive and proactive attitude with high initiative and the ability to perform with minimal supervision.A cents € cents Able and willing to spend the majority of time in the plant with the operators, maintenance personnel, and contractors;
