Our large investment client in Baltimore area is looking for a Strategic Communications / Marketing Analyst. The main function of a marketing analyst is to research market conditions in local, regional, or national areas to determine potential sales of a product or service. A typical marketing analyst is responsible for gathering information on competitors and methods of marketing and distribution. Candidate should have strong writing skills, project/product management skills, expert marketing and communication skills. Ideal candidate will have knowledge of or ability to deeply understand financial product offerings. This is full time 40 hour per week W2 contract position for 6+ months. Work may be performed at client site in Owings Mills, MD but hybrid or remote can be considered. Marketing Analyst / Communications Strategist supports the go-to-market strategies and content creation for our advisor-focused product offerings - including but not limited to: MEPs/ PEPs, 3(38) programs, Financial Wellness solution integration, Advisor Managed Accounts, and an Advisor Portal (will require new product marketing collateral and additional thematic value add content for promotions across email campaigns, industry events, social, web and PR). Develops strategies to drive the identification of record-keeping sales opportunities by collaborating with internal sales, client management, and product partners within Retirement Plan Services (RPS) and across other business units. In addition to supporting existing campaigns that help drive repeat business, this role supports our territory growth plan by determining effective ways to reach new audiences, identify leads, and serve meaningful content in the moment. Will communicate with product team to understand offerings and develop strategy and communications for customers. Communications developed will include FAQs and Q&A for use with clients and internal customers so prior experience in financial services or similarly heavily regulated industry is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Include: Advise business and other groups on local, national, and international factors affecting the buying and selling of products and services Confer with legal staff to resolve problems, such as copyright infringement and royalty sharing with outside producers and distributors Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction Direct the hiring, training, and performance evaluations of marketing and sales staff and oversee their daily activities Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors Negotiate contracts with vendors and distributors to manage product distribution, establishing distribution networks and developing distribution strategies Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends Required Skills/Experience: Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience required 10+ years related experience in financial services industry or other B2B Marketing role required Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Expert ability to work independently and manage one's time. Strong mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback. Expert knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
