Lakewood is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to work every other weekend.The CNA is responsible for providing direct care to residents under the direction of the charge nurse and to assist/perform activities of daily living with an emphasis on establishing and maintaining the highest level of resident independence.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Grooming and bathing residents with low mobilityPreparing each resident room with necessary items like blankets, pillows, medical equipment and toiletriesHelping residents eat and take medicationsEnsuring regular meals are provided and proper medication dosages are administeredMonitoring and reporting vitals and resident behavior to the nursing and medical staffAssisting residents with mobility needs, ie transferring them from a wheelchair to a bedTurning or adjusting residents in bed to prevent bedsores or other discomfortExercising residents by helping them walkMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDCurrently licensed as a CNA in VirginiaExcellent interpersonal skills, including customer service, patience, empathy and compassionEffective communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehensionGood collaboration and teamwork skillsFast and adaptive problem-solving abilitiesKeen attention to detailIn-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulationsFamiliarity with symptoms and signs of improvement for a number of medical conditionsComfortable working with specific populations of patients, including elderly patients and those with special needsPhysical strength and staminaWe offer competitive wages, the opportunity to work with a great staff, and a relaxed, friendly work environment!Health and dental insurance options, life insurance, retirement plan with company match, and generous paid time off are made available for full time team members!EOE.About Us:Come make a meaningful career out of caring as part of our dynamic Life plan community where your contributions will be recognized.
