For more information, please visit: .ResponsibilitiesThe Data Analyst will join a Guidehouse team to support a Department of State client on data analysis and data policy for foreign assistance data.Daily work involves conducting data analysis and comparisons between datasets, identifying differences and anomalies, translating datasets according to established crosswalks, supporting the maintenance and updating of crosswalks and schema, and developing new ways to improve the efficiency of processing datasets. Daily work also includes conducting individual analysis on highly complex data issues and advising the client on data policy principles.The analyst will work with clients to review their data and develop solutions to improve data quality and use data to answer questions and to develop data-driven solutions to achieve desired outcomes. This analyst will contribute to the development of data visualization products, as well as develop their own products.The ideal candidate will be proactive, anticipate client needs before they arise, develop and adhere to workplans for deliverables and work products, and effectively communicate, collaborate, and follow-up with team members and clients.QualificationsThe following skills/experience/knowledge are required to be considered for this role:2-4 years of relevant work experience in a data analyst and/or data policy positionIn-depth experience working with datasets using Tableau, Python, SQL, R, and/or AlteryxBachelors degree or higherThe ability to obtain a Secret clearanceThe following skills/experience/knowledge are preferred to be considered for this role:Collaborating and contributing as a team member: ability to work both independently and as part of a team; ability to understand personal and team roles, contribute to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members, proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback;Experience analyzing large and complex data sets, including a demonstrated thorough aptitude for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses;Ability to prioritize multiple completing tasks, researching and analyzing client data, and utilizing problem-solving skills and coaching others on doing so;Experience reviewing the work of other team members;Experience developing data policy and governance documents;Experience interacting with government officials and key stakeholders, to include managing ongoing coordination with 20+ POCs;In-depth experience working with datasets and leveraging analytical and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI);Strong preference for experience working with foreign assistance datasets and/or international development/foreign affairs environment; andCollaborative and inclusive of all backgrounds and opinions.Preferred Degree in Economics, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or other relevant fieldSecret ClearanceAdditional RequirementsThe successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.Due to our contractual requirements and federal orders, including an Executive Order from the White House and an emergency regulation from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the position for which you are applying requires that you provide proof of your vaccination status.
