Job Summary:
Westat has an opportunity available in its Human Resource Services team for a Human Resource Assistant.  This junior level role will gain administrative and project support exposure in key Human Resource areas including Employee Relations, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning and Development, Onboarding and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.  

Job Responsibilities:
•    Provide administrative and project support to the Vice President of Human Resource Services. 
•    Provide forward facing client support to all Westat employees reaching out to Westat's Human Resource Service via phone or email and routing inquiries to the appropriate Human Resource team member.
•    Support the HR Business Partner team with administrative and project support tasks including the administration of the Professional Development program and Immigration. 
•    Support the Recruiting Team with supplemental job postings, education and employment verifications and HR Orientation. 
•    Assist the Compensation team with position requests. 
•    Project support including administrative coordination for the Talent Management and Development team. 
•    Act as a liaison with Westat's Accounting Department in processing invoices, expense reports and reconciliations as required.

Basic Qualifications:
•    A Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or communication related field. 
•    Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Demonstrated knowledge and use of video platforms including Webex, Zoom and Teams. 
•    Experience with using social media platforms e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. 
•    Calendar Management experience in Outlook.
•    Westat experience preferred. 

The successful candidate will have strong initiative and an interest in developing a broad knowledge of Human Resources. Time management and communication skills are key in working with varied teams in Human Resources.
