Duties

  • Assists the Chief in ensuring that work assignments are completed by the Unit in accordance with established priorities and policies in a timely manner.
  • Initiates, reviews, and monitors nationwide Legal Division personnel recruitment, appointment, detail reassignment, and promotion actions. Assists with overseeing the posting of authorized vacancies and the on-boarding/exiting of staff.
  • Serves as a liaison between Legal Division staff and the Division of Administration (DOA) on matters involving personnel management and other technical or administrative issues.
  • Prepares and analyzes data from various computer databases and relevant sources for use in complex tracking reports and spreadsheets that are used by the General Counsel and other senior managers.
  • Participates in discussions with senior managers regarding the current and future allocations of resources.
  • Assists employees and supervisors in interpreting and administering policies, procedures, and regulations on various personnel and administrative topics.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here .

To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as overseeing and/or coordinating personnel management and administrative program operations related to at least four (4) of the following areas; position management, position classification, recruitment/staffing, compensation, performance management, time and attendance, and building/facilities management.
