Overview:We make it rewarding to deliver FUN!We're Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, one of the largest regional amusement-resort operators in the world with 13 amusement parks in North America.Kings Dominion is seeking a Director of Human Resources at the park in Doswell, VA. The Director, reporting to the park General Manager, provides strategic leadership in all human resources functions of the Park, including recruitment and employment, learning and development, compensation and benefits, employee services, HRIS, and overall human resources strategic planning. Supervises subordinate managerial and support staff. Performs related administrative, supervisory and professional work as required.How You'll Make A Difference:Provides human resources expertise to management to assist with the decision making process regarding employee issues and concerns.Advises management and staff on employee relations issues. Researches all options; involves appropriate corporate resources as necessary.Ensures that all actions are rational, appropriate and protect the interests and resources of the company.Ensures adequate Park staffing levels.Develops and manages the division's annual budget.Reviews the work of subordinates for completeness and accuracy; evaluates and makes recommendations as appropriate; offers advise and assistance as needed.Supervises duties of subordinate managerial and support staff. Supervisory duties include instructing; assigning, reviewing and planning work of others; maintaining standards;coordinating activities; allocating personnel; selecting new employees; acting on employee problems; and recommending and approving employee promotions, transfers, discipline, discharge and salary increases.Plans, directs and supervises all human resources functions and programs, ensuring park compliance with all applicable personnel policies and procedures and all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to employment.Adheres to and enforces all Cedar Fair and specific Park policies and procedures, including safety, attendance and EEO policies, and demonstrates commitment to customer service in all aspects of employment.Other duties may be assigned.We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in HR, Leadership Development, Management or equivalent10 years progressive HR leadership experienceExperience leading an HR team and providing strategic thought leadership to senior operating teamsDemonstrated familiarity with federal, state and local labor laws, including EEO, medical and religious accommodations, FMLA and minor labor lawsAdvanced written and oral communication skills, as well as, superior spelling, punctuation, and grammarStrong time and project management skills and experienceA high level of organizational and communication skillsDemonstrated proficiency with computers, including applicant tracking systems, HRIS/LMS and Microsoft OfficeDemonstrated ability to analyze recruitment data and present relevant information to key stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to effectively lead throughout an organizationAbility to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.Driver's LicenseReady to make a difference?
