The Resilience Instructor (Mental Health Professional) will independently provide services to support the Foreign Service Institute's (FSI) Transition Center's Center of Excellence in Foreign Affairs Resilience (CEFAR). The primary objective is to provide contractor services and deliverables through performance as mental health and resilience specialist as they relate to the organization's mission.The contractor will serve as a Resilience Instructor in CEFAR. The position is located in Arlington, VA but may require travel to domestic offices and overseas posts. They will draft training designs, deliver training, evaluate the impact of resilience training, create new modules and courses on resilience, design and deliver webinars and digital video conferences, and provide customized training for State Department personnel.The services of a professional with a degree in mental health who has studied or worked on resilience, are required to help design and deliver resilience training in a manner that reflects the highest standards of the adult education profession. Prior to, during, and after delivery of resilience courses and modules, the contract instructor represents FSI and should therefore present him/herself accordingly.DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Under this contract, the Resilience Instructor (Mental Health) shall work with CEFAR team to design, deliver, and evaluate FSI courses and modules related to resilience. The contract instructor will assist in the development of resilience programs, materials, and tools. This scope of work applies to any course taught at NFATC or at an off-campus location, including domestic offices and US Embassies and Consulates overseas. The contractor instructor shall:Become familiar with CEFAR's resilience models, reviewing materials on CEFAR's shared drive, Share Point site, and resource library.Observe CEFAR Resilience Instructors conduct a range of courses, modules, and virtual training.Meet regularly with CEFAR team members to design courses and modules, materials, programs, and tools.Review existing course designs and recommend improvements.Consult with individuals about resilience related issues, helping them find ways to improve resilience and manage resilience related issues in their offices. Provide referrals for additional resources, including mental health support.Communicate with offices/missions who request resilience consultations training to conduct needs assessments and provide resilience training recommendations.Develop needs assessments and post training evaluation tools to determine both the need for and effectiveness of resilience training.Serve as lead instructor for resilience courses and modules, including both classroom and virtual training, and training that takes place at an off-campus location.Stay current by reviewing scientific research on resilience and make recommendations for the use of such research in training designs and materials.Liaison with resilience trainers and researchers across the US government and in the private sector.Serve as a guest lecturer in other classes as needed.Assist in the development of other instructors and team-teach to mentor new instructors.Draft posts for FSI's Fostering Resilience blog.Draft articles for publication both within the State Department and for outside publications on behalf of the State Department.Analyze available data on both personal and community resilience in the Foreign Affairs community for use in training designs and materials.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A graduate degree in a mental health related field and experience coping with trauma and crises on an individual and organizational level.General knowledge of resilience research and application.Experience working in an overseas environment with preference granted to those who served in high threat/high stress environments.APPLICATION DEADLINE: Specific date or upon until filled.HOW TO APPLY: Please apply via IndeedE-VERIFY STATEMENTThis company participates in the E-Verify Employment Verification Program.COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY STATEMENTExecutive Order 14042 requires all federal government subcontractors to be fully vaccinated by December 8, 2021.
