In this position, the ideal candidate will use their advanced technical skills to help solve tough collaboration and social computing problems for a wide variety of sponsors and help MITRE achieve its goal of a safer world.Responsibilities include:Assist MITRE and government sponsors in the architecture and implementation of solutions to solve challenging collaboration and social computing problems in domains such as healthcare, intelligence, and defenseLead simple projects or have accountability for project tasks; planning and guiding the work of others in the technical development of web applications and other software solutionsApply rapid prototyping techniques and agile methodologiesWork independently and on a team to develop software prototypes using modern software engineering techniques with minimal instruction, guidance, and directionProvide technical leadership in producing software solutions that address sponsor requirements and needsDemonstrate expertise in industry standard best practices for software design, implementation, testing, and documentationLeverage advanced software engineering knowledge and transfer that knowledge to othersMinimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related job experience4+ years of related experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python and C++Required QualificationsStrong fundamentals in software engineering, object-oriented programming, web application development, and software architectureProven ability to work independently to learn new technologies, techniques, processes, languages, platforms, systemsStrong written and verbal communications skillsDemonstrated ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts comparable to those obtained with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of studyPreferred Qualifications:Candidates holding an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance are highly preferredThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
