The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for an experienced Accounting and HR Operations Director to join a full-service marketing solutions firm in Columbia, MD. This role will be responsible for all financial and accounting management for this energetic, driven, and dynamic team of marketing experts. This individual will report to the President/CEO and oversees all accounting functions as well as ensure that HR laws and compliance are followed. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a solid understanding of HR laws in order to manage both aspects of the position with ease. Responsibilities Include: Manage the operations of the accounting department Oversee customer billing Handle AP and AR Create financial reports and strategize business needs with CEO/President Create monthly and annual financial reports for Partners HR Responsibilities: Assist with implementing HR strategies Hire, mentor and train accounting staff Ensure HR compliance Process payroll Oversee benefits and 401k administration Candidate Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field 8+ years of high level accounting experience CPA is a plus Strong analytical skills Technical skills: MS Excel Workamajig preferred Knowledge of HR laws and HR compliance Ability to juggle ongoing projects, manage conflicting deadlines and a self-directed willingness to take ownership of the role This is a direct hire position.
