The Rappahannock Goodwill is searching for Retail Associates to join our team at the Plank Road Store . As a store associate, you'll be cross-trained in all aspects of retail customer service - from collecting at the donor door, to working the sales floor, to operating a cash register, and keeping the store clean. You'll be given task outlines for all your duties, 5S Training and organizational policies to ensure that you do your work in a way that is both safe and secure. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES: Accurately processing sales transactions for customers in Goodwill stores. Providing a clean and organized sales floor shopping experience. Pleasantly greeting and interacting with customers who are shopping your store. Assisting with accepting, processing, and merchandising donated items. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Basic math and reading skills. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service mindset. Must be able to prove authorization to work in the US with appropriate documentation. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance and/or accommodations. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Ability to bend, reach and grasp throughout the workday. Rappahannock Goodwill Industries requires all new hires to be vaccinated for Covid-19. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in retail, fast food or warehouse environments. Previous military experience is highly preferred. Due to the nature of the role, weekend work is required including a flexible schedule of nights and holidays. You may work in all types of conditions including heat, cold and dust, and you need to be able to physically process (both loading and unloading) donated items with or without accommodations.
