Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Join the Tactical Space Divisions Mission Systems Engineering organization as a mid or senior Mission Systems Engineer/Architect to support commercial spacecraft and satellites at our Dulles, VA campus or our Gilbert, AZ campus. These roles are responsible for leading mission engineering efforts for space programs supporting Satellite Robotic Servicing and Communications.Support the technology development of a range of spacecraft with orbit lifetimes of 1-3 years to spacecraft with orbit lifetimes of a decade or more. These fast paced programs typically run between two to three years from award to initial launch capability and with a variety of programs in all stages of development, there are many opportunities for career progression and professional development. You may support and develop the next generation of commercial space opportunities, development of advanced communication satellites as well as development of missions which can service communication satellites as well as other existing spacecraft.Our Mission Engineers and Architects :Lead, plan, and manage mission utilization of complex space systems and capabilities.Understand and communicate operational mission requirements to engineering teams.Perform system analysis, design optimization, system performance assessments, and operations analysis work in support of integrated mission analysis for current and potential customers.Track Measures of Performance, Measures of Effectiveness and define other metrics to ensure capabilities meet customer objectives.May perform mission planning and orbit analysis using tools such as STK and Freeflyer.Successful candidates will be part of a team that demonstrates an attitude and approach founded in the following key characteristics:Mission Objective DrivenCustomer IntimacySimultaneous Focus on Short Term Objectives and Long Term ImperativesSolutions Oriented, Driven, Creative, Problem SolverInformation and Team IntegratorDecisive, Closure-DriverBasic Qualifications:Experience in space vehicle mission planning, command and control, and operationsExperience communicating operational mission requirements to engineering teamsMust have US CitizenshipBachelor's Degree in STEM Science, Technology, Engineering, Math or related technical field and a minimum of 9 years of applicable experience, or a Master's Degree and 7 years of applicable experiencePreferred Experience:CONOPS development for Space Based programsPrior experience conducting system analysis, design optimization, and or system performance assessmentsKnowledge of various mission analysis techniques and software toolsExperience with space and ground product linesSalary Range: 125500 - 188300Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
