Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Chief Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the technical execution in the development, certification, production, and test of a Product Line.Job Duties:Serve as final design authority for the Product LineProvide overall leadership, direction and applicable management to the Project Engineering team (to include coaching team members, resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating corrective actions)Act as a technical focal point for the customer ensuring customer satisfaction with all technical efforts including participation in customer and government review boardsProvide judgement/direction on the technical adequacy of design, analysis and testing activitiesDrive coordination and integration of team members to ensure the design is properly integrated between all facilities and drive consistency between the engineering products produced by each facilityWork on problem solving and failure investigations of technical issuesDrive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendationsWork closely with the Program Manager to manage technical execution of the detailed program planWork with Engineering functional management to assure proper technical supportProvide technical direction on contract changes and Statement of Work negotiationsDrive technical excellence (by upholding technical standards for project, managing technical risks, supporting cost goals, and ensuring requirements compliance)Champion company values, including safety, best practices and continuous improvementSkills & Qualifications:A working knowledge of the design and production of satellites and their componentsDemonstrated experience with problem solving, problem investigation teams and critical decision making skillsStrong understanding and broad application of Northrop Grumman engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)Demonstrated experience in generating technical solutions in the absence of complete customer requirementsManagement of engineering scope as it pertains to budgeting and participation in EAC reviewsStrong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient mannerStrong verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentationsDemonstrated team leadership skills - leader of significant technical projects or investigations and management of multiple program tasks to schedule and budget Experience with the proposal processExcellent time management and organizational skillsAn understanding of program management practices: establishing and executing to budgets and schedulesBasic Qualifications:BS Degree in STEM Science Technology Engineering Math and 14 years systems engineering experience or MS Degree and 12 years systems engineering experienceMust have a minimum of 2 years of formal or informal supervisory/ management/ team management/ leadership experienceA cents € cents Ability to travel 5% - 10% A cents € cents Strong understanding of satellite system design, development, and manufactureMust have US Citizenship with active or current Top Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:14 years satellite design and manufacture experienceEngineering leadership experience in satellite development, qualification, and production cyclesDemonstrated credibility with internal and external customersProposal technical volume lead experienceSalary Range: 155600 - 233400Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
