Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced Principal /Sr. Principal Network Engineering to support an IT infrastructure network consolidation program in Chantilly, VA.A Network Engineer designs, develops, configures, integrates, installs and tests network systems.The candidates will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:Design and plan network communication systemsProvide specification and detailed schematics for network architectureDefine and develop techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs to include current and future capacityConduct testing of network designMaintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interface such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, switches, bridges, gateways, etc.Evaluate and report on new communication technologies to enhance capabilities of the networkTroubleshoot, upgrade and implement improvements to the entire enclave, to include but not limited to Cisco and JuniperThis requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.This requisition may be filled at either a Principal or Sr. Principal Level.Basic Qualifications for a Principal:5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhDExperience with Cisco switches or routers and BGP,OSPF, multicast high availability, firewallsA Current Network Certification of an Industry Standard, ie, Cisco or Juniper Certified, CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, JNCP, etc.A valid CompTIA Security+ CE certification (IAT II or higher) OR the ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification (IAT II or higher) within the first 6 months of employmentA current active TS/SCI with PolyBasic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal:9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhDExperience with Cisco switches or routers and BGP,OSPF, multicast high availability, firewallsA Current Network Certification of an Industry Standard, ie, Cisco or Juniper Certified, CCNA, CCDA, CCDP, JNCP, etc.A valid CompTIA Security+ CE certification (IAT II or higher) OR the ability to obtain a CompTIA Security+ CE certification (IAT II or higher) within the first 6 months of employmentA current active TS/SCI with PolyPreferred Qualifications:A cents € cents Experience with implementing IT infrastructures A cents € cents Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ASA, Aggregation Service Routers (ASR) hardware and softwareExperience with OPNET, WANDL, REDHAT or other similar toolsStrong working knowledge of IP address/Networking theory including common command line tools and commonly used ports to troubleshot and test network/connectivity issuesExperience as information assurance technician (IAT) level 1 or higherDemonstrated experience developing and troubleshooting applications on multiple platforms in an enterprise domainFamiliarity with firewall types/theory and configuration of OS installed FWsExperience working with government customers and other contractorsSalary Range: 91960 - 137940Salary Range 2: 114048 - 171072Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
