The Naval Aviation Department at MITRE is seeking a candidate experienced in a broad range of systems engineering activities across the SE life cycle (ex. Concept/CONOPs development, requirements engineering, systems architecture design, development, integration, testing and validation). The candidate must have experience performing systems engineering tasks and working on site with government sponsors. Desired SE experience includes evaluating emerging technologies in the real-time embedded space and defining requirements for future systems based on emerging technologies. They should be comfortable working outside of their areas of expertise to help identify and describe local customer/sponsors problems to others and assist in project definition and shaping within the Naval Aviation Portfolio. Responsibilities Include: Serve as a trusted advisor to the Sponsor, advising them across all aspects of the systems engineering lifecycle, including CONOPs development, requirements engineering, planning, integration, and testing schedules to meet aggressive development timelines. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines as part of Integrated Product Teams and help define both program and technical direction. Engage across a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders to help them understand system design concepts, challenges, and proposed solutions. Assess current RADAR and processing systems, and conduct independent trade studies of sensor, software, and processing components to shape the direction of the Navy's next generation ISR systems. Generate systems engineering and DoD acquisition documentation in support of sponsor acquisition efforts. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or related field 5+ years' experience in executing systems engineering lifecycle to include requirements development and analysis Possess and maintain a Top Secret level security clearance Obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level security clearance Good communication skills and the ability to present highly technical material to a diverse audience Demonstrated experience in performing analytical work Preferred Qualifications: Naval Aviation Domain knowledge/experience Digital Engineering (DE)/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) knowledge/experience This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s): Top Secret This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s): Top Secret/SCI MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
