Responsibilities Provides objective advice, expertise and specialized skills with the aim of creating value, maximizing growth or improving the performance of their clients. May serve in an executive assistant/advisory role to a high level government official in support of large complex programs. Has expertise and operates across one or more industries and variety of services such as business strategy, manpower planning, policy analysis, management controls, information technology, e-business and operations. Identifies options with recommendations, and/or the implementation of solutions. Projects may be complex, involving multiple products and computer environments. Designs complex approaches, applications or solutions. Support the cloud servers, including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting. Also helps to maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures. Manage and provide operational support of data availability and retention systems such as server and SAN based backups and enterprise level backup solutions. Manage the instances of the cloud infrastructure services and the multiple cloud servers. Develops performance criteria and measurement methods to create dashboards and tools for the Enterprise Operations team to team to work. Develop, configure, implement and manage the systems that comprise the underlying cloud platform. Operate a Microsoft Azure-based cloud infrastructure be responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Network and Security. Develop automation to better correlate data and ensure only actionable incidents are created for the operations teams to respond to. Ensuring the security posture for the virtual environment by monitoring system security, documenting system configurations, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices, DA regulations, and STIGs. Implement, monitor and maintain MS Azure solutions and major services related to compute, network, security, and storage. Automates statistical research and reports. Manage storage solutions for VM virtual hard disks, database files, user data, and application data Support the cloud and physical servers, including security configurations, patching, and troubleshooting. Also helps to maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures. Measure system usage by workload type, identifying trends and estimating further resource requirements. Experience with Hyper-V installation and administration Create and maintain VM templates used for rapid deployment of virtual machines. Install and configure the Windows operating system in cloud IaaS providers. Monitor and analyzes the capabilities and performance of the systems. Analyze and translate business requirements into a solution design for new installations or upgrades to existing platforms. Maintain, configure and utilize new and existing monitoring tools to support/enhance the environment. Implement alerting escalation within the NOC toolset. Provide best practices recommendations to help filter out false positive alerts. Perform gap analysis for immediate relief on False-positive and non-actionable alerting Assist in developing metric based reporting for the tools infrastructure Support testing, configuration, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of network management tools capabilities. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection of tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Provides input into project status reports and participate in tracking and management of project issues and risks. Create and maintain global standard documentation for network management platforms and automation Perform installation, maintenance and upgrade of NOC tools and corresponding operating systems. Qualifications Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD. Required Current/Active DoD Secret clearance DoD 8570.1-M IAT level II certification (CompTIA CySA+, CompTIA Security+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP) Experience with Azure Monitor and Sentinel Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; experience with customer service and problem resolution Understanding of network monitoring protocols including SNMP, NetFlow, WMI, syslog, etc. Expert troubleshooting skills in SNMP, Connectivity, Hardware, Software, Agents Experience with Microsoft PowerShell, Microsoft PowerApps, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft OneDrive Strong oral and written communication and organization skills Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing to IT and non-IT staff Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to deliver high quality work Must be proficient with all Microsoft 0365 applications/services/tools Understanding of basic network concepts, familiarity with TCP/IP and VLAN functionality Demonstrative written and verbal communication skills to audiences with a wide variety of technical knowledge Very strong troubleshooting skills with a focus on root cause analysis and practical issue resolution Strong understanding of universal network services (DNS, LDAP, DHCP) Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (PHP, Bourne shell, Ruby, Python) Experience with working with network discovery tools and building visualization of networks Preferred Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals Working knowledge of Azure Network Performance Monitor (NPM), Azure Monitor, NPM for Azure Express Route, Azure Security Center and Azure Network Watcher. Previous experience with documentation and content management and development of process documentation Proficient in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, PERL, BASH, PowerShell Experience with SAFe methodology Experience working in an enterprise cloud operations environment. Experience using automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) to deploy and configure environments ITIL V3/4 Foundation Certification Experience with IT Service Management tools and continuous service improvement Experience supporting large IT projects leveraging Agile methodology REST API development experience and code versioning tools such as Git For Colorado Residents Colorado Salary Minimum: $91,436.80 Colorado Salary Maximum:$195,499.20 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
