The Financial Education Specialist provides an individualized, holistic approach focused on long-term financial resiliency and stability for warriors and their families.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPlan, organize, and administer the WWP Financial Education (FE) program services in collaboration with program management and external partners.Develop and deliver the financial education curriculum to support and educate wounded service members to attain financial stability.Provide individualized non-clinical financial supportive services to assist warriors in identifying their personal financial challenges and opportunities.Provide case assessment to define individual financial guidance needs. Offer referrals to external partners for financial advice and budget review and guidance. Conduct follow-up engagements.Educate warriors and families to identify and prioritize financial goals and to set financial goals.Review learning plans for warrior's individual financial needs.Provide appropriate practical knowledge and educational guidance to enable warriors to make informed choices and develop immediate and long-range personal plans to achieve financial resiliency and stability.Inform warriors and families about overall Financial Education services, tools, and resources. Refer warriors and family members to appropriate WWP programs and community resources.Assist in ongoing services assessment and work with internal and external partners to ensure effectiveness of seminars, referral processes, and warrior participation. Assist with continuous evaluation of ongoing financial education services to ensure program responsiveness to warrior needs.Utilize assessment data to improve financial education seminars and advising services delivery. Provide recommendations for instructional strategies to meet warrior needs.Brief WWP internal and external partners on Financial Education services.Utilize technology and various media to support onsite and remote learning seminars.Maintain detailed and relevant records on financial education services, documentation requirements, and reporting. Ensure privacy and confidentiality of all records, documentation, and information.Provide effective and responsive customer service to alumni and family support members and internal and external partners.Work collaboratively with internal and external resources to ensure holistic support of overall warrior needs.Serve as back up to Financial Education coordinator for administrative and logistics support of Financial Education program as neededOther related duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESDemonstrated understanding of personal financial management principles.Demonstrated ability to identify ineffective money management behaviors.Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and build effective working relationships telephonically.Demonstrated understanding of relationship management and partnering. Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships and create a diverse network of resources.Understanding of and sensitivity to the unique needs of veterans and their family members and caregivers. Strong understanding of military and veteran issues and military culture.Strong working understanding of WWP programs and other resources available for families and Warriors.Strong written and verbal communication skills. Effective public speaking skills with an ability to deliver information to large groups including in-person and virtually.Effective organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively complete assignments and meet deadlines.Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated database administrative skills.High energy level. Self-starter; willing to take initiative.Unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.Mission-driven, guided by core values, and a pleasure to work with.EXPERIENCERequirementsFour years of experience in financial counseling, financial education,or personal financial management services.Two years of experience working with military or veteran's population.PreferencesTwo years of experience with SalesForce.Two years of experience using Cvent.EDUCATIONRequirementsBachelor's degree in business, finance, financial counseling or financial case management, or relevant field. Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and certification may be considered in lieu of degree.CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURERequirementsNone.PreferencesAccredited Financial Counselor (AFC) or pursuing accreditation.Certified Financial Health Counselor (CFHC).WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDSGeneral office environment, temperature controlled.Up to 10% travel.For Colorado Applicants: We recognize the success of our mission depends on the efforts of our passionate, hard-working teammates. The estimated hiring range for this position is between $51,200 - $57,600 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials.
