The Department seeks to hire a 5G Cybersecurity engineer to assist government sponsors in defining strategy, supporting technology exploration, and developing architectures to speed the adoption of secure and resilient 5G technology within Federal Civilian Government agencies and the nation's critical infrastructure providers.Job Responsibilities:Apply knowledge of mobile network architectures, cyber sensor technologies, cyber analytic platforms, and cyber threats to provide US Government sponsors with advanced capabilities to protect, detect, and respond to cyber-attacks targeting mobile and wireless edge technology.Develop 5G and wireless security requirements and use cases for Federal Civilian Agency and Critical Infrastructure operator missions and missions.Perform systems security engineering for proposed 5G and wireless enterprise solutions.Assess security threats associated with 5G use cases and develop appropriate mitigations.Plan and conduct 5G proof-of-concept technology demonstrations.Develop test and evaluation plans for validating and verifying 5G mobile security solutions.Apply zero trust principles to develop pilots and proofs-of-concept for use of 5G devices for access to multi-cloud sponsor environments.Serve as task lead or subject matter expert on Department projects with supported government organizations related to cloud security architecture and engineering support.Basic Qualifications:Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.Required Qualifications:5+ years experience in cellular networks cybersecurity, security architecture development, or security engineering.Experience integrating LTE/5G technology into enterprise architectures.Current knowledge and recent demonstrated experience with 5G mobile technology and security solutions.Knowledge of 5G security-related industry and government standards.Experience with cybersecurity threats posed to mobile technology and appropriate mitigation techniques.Effective communications and presentation skills.Have the ability to obtain Federal government security clearance.Preferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree.Experience developing cybersecurity approaches and solutions to protect mobile or wireless devices used in internet of things or industrial control system applications (especially related to electric and pipeline sector).Experience working for a Tier 1 vendor or Mobile Network Operator.Knowledge and experience with 3GPP, ITU, IETF, ETSI or related standards.Experience with software defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) technologies.Knowledge of zero trust principles and their application to mobile or wireless device security in the enterprise.Knowledge of identity management and cryptography technologies.Knowledge and Experience integrating mobile devices into major cloud providers' architectures and service offerings (eg, Amazon Web Services, Google, Azure, etc.).Knowledge of US government-unique enterprise cybersecurity requirements.This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):NoneThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCIMITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
