JOB SUMMARY:Manage maintenance, reliability, and facilities operations with a focus on meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, maintenance, efficiency, and service.Oversee all maintenance and project activities to ensure they are completed in safe, timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner.Lead maintenance activities - including direction of people, development and oversight of asset management programs, and implementation of initiatives - to maximize the performance of all infrastructure and equipment.Responsible for the overall upkeep of production equipment and machines, and facility building and grounds, by scheduling and execution of preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance.Through the use of continuous improvement methodology and team approach, identify and implement innovations and best practices to drive improvements in maintenance and reliability.Day-to-Day Role:Manage and promote practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards, and serve the needs of our customers.Take ownership and demonstrate leadership necessary to achieve goals specific to Safety, Quality, Service, Efficiency and Employee Development.Monitor KPI's anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of targetsLead by example to promote and encourage employees to strongly commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)Manage the team responsible for the installation, maintenance, and improvement of machinery, equipment and facilities, janitorial services, site security and systems and groundsDirect, supervise, and /or assist in plant and facility capital improvement projects and installationsEvaluate, recommend, and acquire tools for use, including process analysis software, and other physical tools and resources specific to reliability and maintenance improvementLead training efforts to ensure maintenance technicians have needed resources for standard operating procedures (SOP's), work instructions, specialty tools, and updated Preventive Maintenance (PM) kitsSets priorities for maintenance backlog and oversees long-range and short-range maintenance schedulesEnsure that maintenance work execution is compliant with statutory regulationsDevelop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to improve machinery performance (ie uptime, reliability and efficiency)Oversee the execution of preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance plans, and hold team accountable for adhering to the proper work standards related to precision maintenance as per job plansCoordinate with maintenance planners and the production department to build weekly proactive maintenance schedule with detailed job plansAnalyze production schedules and work orders to determine work priorities for repairs, maintenance and installationAdminister and improve systems and procedures for maintenance work ordersDevelop and implement a system for the collection and maintenance of data and statistics of maintenance history and maintenance needs on production equipmentSolicit assistance from other departments and management as necessary to achieve goals and targetsUtilize computer applications to maintain data and run reportsAudit the floor as required by Leader Standard Work, monitor metrics, verify adherence to procedures/ standard work and correct deficiencies as necessary.Participate in root-cause analysis for repetitive damage and failure rates, work with other groups in proactively resolving equipment issuesUnderstand, support and follow management expectations in alignment with company values.Supervise, cross-train and direct the work of others Responsible for employee onboarding, coaching/counseling, development, discipline, performance appraisals, administration of policies and assignment of breaks, lunches, and other relief periodsMake recommendations regarding staffing decisionsConduct or participate in the interview process with new candidatesCore Skills & Qualifications:Requires one of the followingBachelor's Degree with five (5) years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strong leadership and management skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strong leadership and management skillsTwo (2) years specific experience performing maintenance and equipment reliabilityDisplays strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachableKnowledge in multiple maintenance and skilled trades disciplines such as mechanical and electrical maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, pipefitting, automation, robotics, and controls, and/or energy and utilitiesFamiliar with phone and voice systems, onsite or third-party security, and security systemsKnowledge of business and management principles specifically as it relates to maintenance planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidanceExperienced in reading and interpreting schematics, blueprints, and electrical drawingsAbility to utilize and train employees on technology, processes and proceduresExcellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processesExperience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint Ability to perform root cause analysis, compare and investigate information, and recommend and implement resolutionDemonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issuesPreferred Skills & Qualifications:Four (4) years maintenance experience, manufacturingEight (8) years of engineering, facilities, machinery maintenance and/or reliability experienceUnderstanding of reliability tools and strategies including direct experience facilitating Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)Associate or Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineeringExperience managing multi-shift or continuous operationsPaper converting, chemical or plastics processing, or packaging industrial experienceLean manufacturing experiencePrevious plant production software experience required, SAP
