Duties

  • Provide leadership, project and technical direction to lower graded analysts, defining individual team members' task assignments, reviewing members' work for technical accuracy, and making recommendations for technical training needed for employees.
  • Providing technical assistance to CMS staff, States, contractors, etc., to resolve problems by participating in meetings, answering inquiries, going onsite, doing special analyses, providing training, refining instructions.
  • Coordinating assigned program activities with key officials and groups within and outside the organization; working with CMS, state, and local officials and outside groups and organizations to resolve DHHS, OIG and other single state audit findings.
  • Attending and participating in meetings to provide information and justification on aspects of specific Medicaid, CHIP, or BHP financial policies in order to resolve audit findings.
  • Preparing issue papers, briefing documents, correspondence, project evaluations and reports, analyses, and recommendations for applicable policy areas necessary for audit resolution.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Overseeing the work assignments of subordinate team members, performing technical review of staff work and providing feedback for improvements; 2) Coordinating projects or studies in support of Medicaid policy issues; AND 3) Providing technical guidance on financial management policies and procedures for a national health insurance program

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
