Duties

As a Financial Analyst, you will:
  • Collect, analyze, and validate cost data to manage section resources;
  • Work with forfeiture program components to implement and monitor common program-wide transactions for seized and forfeited asset management and disposition transactions;
  • Apply in depth financial expertise to specialized forfeiture disciplines including International Asset Recovery, Financial Investigations Team methodologies, information technology tools for investigative case management and Asset Tracking;
  • Provide management with status/progress reports on a wide variety of financial issues and identify potential problems and recommend solutions; and
  • Develop and maintain a tracking system for all funds budgeted and expended by MLARS, including, but not limited to, direct appropriations, Asset Forfeiture funds, and Department of State targeted funding streams for specific law enforcement purposes.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-13 level, applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 federal grade level. This experience must include duties such as: using large data sets to develop reports and conduct financial or statistical analyses (e.g., using advanced functions in Excel, regression analysis, etc.); extensive knowledge of financial management programs, performing financial studies, analyses, and research of accounting operations, financial systems, policies, and procedures and experience using knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and both qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess and measure the effectiveness of financial management program operations; developing proposals for improvement, and presenting findings and issuing guidance and final reports on improvement strategies.
