If this sounds like the choice you want to make, then choose MITRE"A cents € and make a difference with us.The MITRE Corporation's Emerging Engineering and Physical Sciences Department is seeking an energetic engineer or scientist with expertise in installation/facility energy infrastructure to work in a dynamic research and analysis environment focused on solving some of our customers biggest energy technology challenges. This department serves as a vanguard for MITRE to meet the future needs of our customers, requiring technical excellence while encouraging creativity and fostering interests in current and emerging technologies across its diverse membership. The department is looking to grow by adding someone with a strong research base in this critical infrastructure areas.Responsibilities include:Assessment and identification of, and proposing remediation steps for, installation/facility energy infrastructure risks, threats, and vulnerabilitiesLeading and contributing to the development of data-driven analysis models and decision support tools for installation/facility energy infrastructure resilienceTransdisciplinary collaboration with diverse experts from across MITRE, our customers, and partners, providing subject matter expertise in energy infrastructure and associated technologiesDesign and evaluation of a wide variety of energy infrastructure technologies and determination of courses of action to meet customer requirementsFraming and communicating technology performance and cost on customer applicationsManaging outcome assessments that promote measuring, monitoring, and verification of technologies in field demonstrations and exercisesRequired Qualifications:Bachelors Degree and 5+ years relevant experience in one of the following fields: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, and/or a related Energy/Power Engineering Systems degree.Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret security clearance which requires US citizenshipDeep technical expertise in one or more energy infrastructure technology areas, including: energy efficiency, power generation, microgrids, or distributed energy resources.Strong technical writing and oral presentation skills.The ability to conduct research and development of new technologies to meet customer requirements in a collaborative environment with both internal and external researchers.The ability to think critically and be proactive in pursuing research and problem-solving with minimal supervision.Preferred Qualifications:Masters Degree and 3+ years relevant experience or PhD and relevant experience in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, and/or a related Energy/Power Engineering Systems degree.Basic understanding of a broad range of energy infrastructure technologies.This requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
