Your new company:A small yet highly successful general contractor based in Northern Virginia are looking to hire an Estimator into their team. If you are looking for a professional work environment that offers flexibility in working from home and the chance for you to lead a company's estimating efforts, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to consider.Your new role:As a commercial estimator you will take charge of the companies' efforts in securing new projects, negotiated and hard bid efforts. You will have the support of senior leadership and a very supportive project management team. You will be required to value engineer solutions to drive down project costs, performing detailed quantity take-offs, unit pricing in production of an estimate and negotiate with trades throughout the bidding process. As this is a fast paces environment exceptional problem solving, organizational, and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail skills are required.The projects you are likely to be estimating are $100k - $2M commercial construction projects, mainly interior focused including government, healthcare, retail and commercial office space.What you'll need to succeed:To be successful for this construction estimator job you will have between 2-5 years of experience with either a general contractor or a specialist construction sub-contractor such as drywall, mechanical, electrical, or plumbing. You will demonstrate a solid understanding and knowledge about estimating processes and delivery methods, with prior experience of conducting solid conceptual estimates utilizing schematics whilst having experience in contract types and deal structures. You will need a passion to learn, ability to multi-task and be a hard worker.What you'll get in return:Base salary on offer up to $90k for the right estimator plus bonus potential available. In addition, you will receive company paid healthcare, 401k match and excellent PTO allowance on offer. This organization have typically been working 2 days in the office, 3 remote from home.
