Through collaborative work with our sponsors, we provide expertise to establish and refine governance structures to ensure information security programs meet organizational and business mission requirements and establish mechanisms that gauge operational security effectiveness.Responsibilities include:Assess privacy needs and collaborate with stakeholders to develop privacy approaches for information technology (IT) activities including privacy engineeringDesign privacy strategies that outline the vision, mission, and goals that align with an organization's strategic planAnalyze existing organizational privacy and cybersecurity policies and programs and provide input for enhancementDevelop privacy policy, programs, and guidelines for implementationConduct analysis of alternatives in response to mission requirementsDesign Cyber Security strategies that address the vision, mission, and goals of senior leaders and organizationsMinimum Qualifications:BS and 8 to 10 years related experienceApplicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.Required Qualifications:Knowledge of privacy laws and guidance that apply to federal government agencies, especially Privacy Act, E-Government Act, HIPAAAt least 5 years of experience working with privacy issues (as a primary duty)Experience interpreting privacy laws and guidance for implementation for a specific mission in a particular environmentPrivacy certifications, ie, CIPP/G, CIPP/US, CIPT, CIPMExperience writing privacy policies and procedures.Experience doing presentations for customers/sponsorsAbility to work with minimal supervision but also willingness to work closely with a team that is not co-locatedAbility to change direction quickly in a fluid environmentSome cybersecurity background/experienceSome systems background/experienceAbility to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Knowledge of information assurance principles and their applicationDetailed understanding and knowledge of privacy laws and guidance that apply to federal government agencies, especially Privacy Act, E-Government Act, HIPAABasic knowledge of US privacy laws that apply to private industry and international privacy laws and conceptsUnderstanding of privacy engineering concepts and principlesStrong writing and briefing skillsKnowledge of enterprise and network security concepts and solutionsAbility to work with others to solve challenging technical problemsAbility to build relationships with government sponsorsExcellent communication, writing and briefing skillsApplicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearanceThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):This requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):MITRE requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
