Are you an Automotive or Truck Technician with experience working on cars, trucks and or industrial equipment?Do you have a passion for fixing cars, medium to heavy-duty trucks, forklifts, heavy equipment (front end loaders, backhoes) snow removal equipment, turf maintenance equipment (zero turn mowers, walk behind mowers, sweepers etc ).Are you up for the challenge of helping to maintain a very unique and diverse fleet of vehicles and likes variety in their work assignments with a strong work ethic?If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking person with proficient mechanical skills to help us maintain our fleet and provide mechanical support for the various government agencies and clients we collaborate with.Our work is to operate a preventive maintenance program at a premier level and to ensure our assets are safe and available for use by our staff members. Our team is very dedicated to excellence and works in an environment that is energizing, dynamic and exciting.As an Automotive Technician, your primary responsibility will be inspections, diagnostics, maintenance and repairs to vehicles, medium and heavy-duty equipment. These vehicles and equipment include; cars, trucks, forklifts, generators, compressors, grounds maintenance equipment, and field test equipment.QualificationsYou meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you Have a High school diploma or equivalent GEDAre proficient in written and spoken EnglishAre knowledgeable working with basic hand and power tools, automotive shop equipment such as; tire machine, tire balancer, brake lathe, vehicle lifts, floor jacks, drill press and bench grinders etc Are proficient using computerized diagnostic scan tools and digital multimeters to repair vehicle complex electrical systemsAre proficient using manufacture repair manuals and online resources to obtain vehicle service informationHave four or more years' experience working in the automotive tradeHold Certification in at least two skill categories established by the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or a combination of training and verifiable experience in performing skilled automotive equipment repair for at least four yearsYou will drive APL vehicles and must possess a valid state of residence driver's license. If selected, you will be subjected to a motor vehicle records checkAre proficient with email and basic Microsoft office applications.Are willing and able to work weekdays 7:00am to 3:30pm. Additional hours may be required during peak work load time or after hour response to emergencies and to support the APL Snow CrewYou will use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and have the aiblity to lift and carry up to 50 poundsCan demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
