The company services hundreds of millions of square feet of commercial energy load, providing a diverse portfolio of properties and companies with creative and highly customized solutions to their energy needs.Reporting to and working under the general supervision of the Energy Manager, the Associate Energy Manager supports one or multiple clients with primary responsibility for tenant utility redistribution calculations. This position is responsible for billing tenants on behalf of our clients in an accurate and timely manner for their share of utility and landlord provided services, while maximizing returns and complying with legislative and regulatory rules governing utility services. The Associate Energy Manager will also assist with managerial duties, including, but not limited to, overseeing the work of the senior energy analysts and energy analysts directly reporting to him/her, ensuring work is completed on-time and accurately, addressing questions and items of escalation, providing input for performance reviews, providing performance feedback to direct reports, assisting with client management tasks, leading ad-hoc projects, and providing input on business process decisions.Duties:Provides timely and accurate utility billing calculations for tenants within our national portfolio of real estate. Utilities may include water, electric, HVAC, gas and electric solar.Prepares annual settlements by property and utility type for each assigned property.Supplies client utility budgets on an annual basis.Provides escrow recommendations upon request from client leasing personnel.Monthly maintenance of utility tariff data, and property information within our database to ensure consistency and accuracy of reporting.Reviews utility specific lease language, to ensure tenants are properly billed in accordance with their individual leases.Ensures work is completed on-time and accurately.Provides feedback to direct reports on performance metrics.Provides training and answers questions as needed.Assists Energy Manager with completing and leading ad-hoc requests and projects.Assists Energy Manager with client management duties.Serves as an intermediary escalation point for energy analysts and senior energy analysts. The Associate Energy Manager should review and address issues to the fullest extent possible before escalating to the Energy Manager.When requested, provides input to the Energy Manager for performance reviews of direct reports.Works collaboratively with the team of Energy Managers to implement new business processesAcquires a working knowledge of both internal and external software required to effectively perform Utility Redistribution and Customer Service duties.Resolution of utility account issues with utility companies and bill processing firms.Lead and participate in projects, actively communicating progress to Energy Managers, and supervisory staff within the organization as well as the client.Ad hoc Reporting in response to client specific requests, including sustainability analysis, energy trend analysis and procurement reporting.Participation in special projects which may include tenant metering, utility system analysis, and shopping center allocation analysis.Additional responsibilities might also include, but are not limited to: load study analysis, assisting in software development, demand response enrollment, and client presentations.Assists with analysis for prospective clients.Assist the Energy Manager in the review of monthly client billing files and other deliverables performed by Energy Analysts.Contributes to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.Maintains key relationships with colleagues, clients, tenants, and vendors.Responds timely to tenant and client inquiries in accordance with established Resource Energy procedures.Provides required documentation for all tenant/client inquiries or disputes as they relate to tenant utility billings.Displays a high level of professionalism when communicating with both internal and external contacts.Qualifications:BA/BS in Energy, Accounting, Engineering, Computer Science or similar analytical discipline or equivent experience.2 - 5 years previous related work experience with knowledge of energy calculations, sustainability concepts or commercial real estate experience preferred.1+ year of supervisory experience preferred.Proficient in using MS Excel to combine and analyze data from various sources, and generate reports and graphics. Must be able to combine large volumes of data for consolidated reporting.Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interface with all levels within our clients organizations.Strong attention to detail with excellent time management, project management and follow through skills.Produces timely and high-quality work on a consistent basis.Demonstrates initiative and shows the ability to take the lead on ad hoc projects.
